Loch Cruising - There is no better way to enjoy the wonders of Loch Lomond than to take to the water on a small boat, like the local postman of Balmaha on his round of the beautiful islands. There is plenty of space for sailing, water skiing and canoeing.
A popular loch cruise is on Loch Katrine in The Trossachs. Visitors can go to Stronachlar from the Trossachs pier on a steamship called The Sir Walter Scott which is over 100 years old. From Stronachlar, you can choose to cycle or walk the 14 miles back. Alternatively, simply make the return voyage on the ship!
Golf - The 'home' of golf, Scotland boasts some truely stunning courses. Drymen itself has an 18 hole parkland course open to visitors at Buchanan Castle Golf Club, as does Strathendrick (3 miles away). A challenging steep course can be found in Aberfoyle (8 miles). An additional 18 hole course in Balfron (3 miles) is open to all visitors. National Park Golf
Fishing - Loch Lomond offers possibly the widest variety of fish in Scotland. Species range from Salmon and sea trout to pike, roach and chub. Visit Balmaha Boat Yard for information and boat hire (5 miles away). For better quality fishing however, Lake of Menteith is 10 miles East. Trout fishing is especially popular here. And if you don't catch one, you'll be impressed by the ospreys as they easily catch their prey!

Cycling - Another opportunity to make the most of our wonderful countryside, there are many back roads and forest tracks for cyclists to avoid traffic. The Glasgow to Killin via Loch Lomond route links Drymen to Balloch and Glasgow to the South with Aberfoyle and the Trossachs to the North. Cycles can be hired in Drymen.
Mini bus tours - If you haven't got your own transport and fancy a guided tour, Drymen Red Bus offer a variety of trips in the local area. They also provide a private hire service if required.
